Senator Gilbert  Baker’s Tim Tebow home school bill, SB 842, is scheduled as a special order of business in the Senate Education Committee tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM.  Senator Baker plans to present the bill at that time for the committee’s consideration.

As we’ve said before, Tim Tebow is a former home schooler, a Heisman Trophy recipient, and a star-quarterback for the Florida Gators. If passed, Senator Baker’s bill would allow home school students to try out for athletics, fine arts, and other extracurricular activities in their local public school district.

Besides Florida, several states allow home school students to participate in some or all extracurricular activities, alongside public school students. Most recently, Alabama’s legislature has been discussing its own version of the Tim Tebow bill.

We will give you the play-by-play through Twitter as debate unfolds in the Senate Education Committee tomorrow.
