As many of you have heard, there is scuttlebutt circulating at the Arkansas Capitol that restrictive home school legislation may be filed soon.

Having spoken with lawmakers who are “in-the-know” about pending legislation, the indications are that no home school bill is expected to be filed this week.  However, we fully expect that one or more lawmakers will try to file a bad home school bill, and when they do, we’ll let you know.

In the meantime, however, we expect the Legislature to focus most its energy hammering out the details of Gov. Beebe’s tobacco-tax and Lt. Gov. Halter’s state-run lotteries.  Until then, no news about home school legislation is good news.
