I actually wrote them down. You can read them in my\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jimmiescollage.com\/2011\/04\/middle-school-goal-setting\/\">middle school goal setting post<\/a>. I think setting goals is a\u00a0<strong>very<\/strong>\u00a0important task for every homeschool year but\u00a0<em>especially<\/em>\u00a0as you enter a pivotal time such as sixth grade.<!--more--><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>When I say pivotal, I do not mean what most people mean \u2014 that you need to start getting\u00a0<strong>scared<\/strong>\u00a0about preparing for high school, buckling down with\u00a0<strong>intense<\/strong>\u00a0academic rigor, and ruthlessly deleting the extras that make learning fun.<\/p>\n<p>Middle school is pivotal because of the\u00a0<strong>emotional and physical changes\u00a0<\/strong>going on in your child. How you handle homeschool and parenting for these few years will set the stage for your relationship with your child throughout adolescence and adulthood.\u00a0<strong>But don\u2019t get scared!<\/strong>\u00a0<em>These years are really fun.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your child is growing in abstract thought, developing a sense of justice, and trying out new hobbies that may one day become a career.
