Visual Manna Art Workshop for Students Ages 8-18 (little ones ages 4-7 included/separate class)
(Students see 40 Master Works of Art from the "Celebrating America" collection)
Visual Manna offers educational workshops at the two Arkansas homeschool conventions this year where students learn art basics and core subject information as well: Spend morning and afternoon enjoying art! Class cost is $15 per workshop or $25 for the day. Ask about family discounts. Preregister and receive a Free CD containing Social Studies Through Art and American History Through Art. BASICS OF ART / FRIDAY, 9-11:30 AM ($20)
Students learn how to draw using shading, shadow and texture and how to recognize basic shapes in all they draw. They learn where light is coming from and how to put that in a drawing. Students see master art works from America from the "Celebrating America" selection. They look at portraits, landscapes, seascapes and still life of master artists.
SCULPTURE IS ART YOU CAN WALK AROUND/ARCHITECTURE IS ART YOU WALK THROUGH / FRIDAY, 1-3:30 PM
Students have opportunity to see master sculptures from the "Celebrating America" collection and do two three dimensional works of art including a sculpture and an educational mobile. They also draw two famous structures from American history in perspective.
Portraits in American History / SATURDAY 9-11:30 AM
Students look at master works of art in American History including Chief White Cloud, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and pictures from the "Celebrating America" collection. Students draw people using different mediums and different backgrounds.
Animals and Landscapes In American History/ SATURDAY 1-3:30 PM
STUDENTS LEARN DRAWING (CHARCOAL) AND COLOR (PASTELS) TECHNIQUES BY DOING ART FOCUSED AROUND ANIMALS. Students do animals seen in the "Celebrating America" collection in a landscape of their natural habitat.
