Arkansas law requires parents to complete a notice of intent to home school and waiver. The notice of intent asks for information about the home school curriculum, number of days in the home school term, and the education level of the home school parent. The parent must also sign a waiver promising not to hold the State of Arkansas liable for the education of their children. According to lawyers in Arkansas and those with the Home School Legal Defense Association, this waiver form is meaningless and unenforceable.
You can file the notice of intent electronically, by mail, or in person at your local school district’s office. Click here for more.
