If you have struggling math learners who need a little jolt of fun included in the school day, you might want to locate low-cost or free resources that will assist your child in learning to love math.  After doing a search in Pinterest, I was astounded by the amount of free online math games available that I haven’t been taking advantage of! This school year, I now know that I’ll be sprucing up our math programs- making it a much more fun learning experience for my kids.

Using Technology in Your Homeschool

A couple of weeks ago, I had finally saved enough money to do something that I’d wanted to do for several months – get my two younger kids laptops. We don’t spend a lot of money on curriculum and, now that they’re both in middle school, I saw a lot of positives to them each having their own computers (rather than using mine or the ancient desktop that’s on its last leg).

The two immediate benefits I saw were math and typing. We use computer-based math programs and both kids are going to be learning typing this year. The fact that the kids are now able to do those things on their own devices is definitely a sanity-saver. However, I’m seeing lots of other benefits as well. (more…)

You are afraid you are not patient enough.

You are afraid you are not smart enough.

You are afraid you are not qualified.

You are afraid your children won’t listen to you.

You are afraid it costs too much.

You are afraid you are going to mess your kid(s) up.

No one is the perfect mom or home school mom.  Everyone is afraid at some point that they are not good enough to do something.  Don’t let fear stop you!  Over and over again in the Bible, we are told “Do not be afraid”, “Fear Not.”  Don’t let your fears stop you from homeschooling your children.
