Last weekend’s home school convention in Searcy was very successful.  Over the course of Friday and Saturday, 1,177 people attended the convention, making for a very busy weekend.

Ask the Readers: Video or Textbook (Or Both)?

A couple of weeks ago we asked you what your favorite curriculum was.  We got so many responses through our blog, our Facebook page, and Twitter, that we thought we would pose another question: Does your family use textbooks, videos, or both as part of your everyday home school curriculum?

In the last decade, the Internet, DVDs, CDs, and multimedia in general have made information more accessible than ever before. Many curriculum providers that previously specialized in textbooks now offer companion DVDs; some new companies publish almost nothing but CDs and DVDs. what do you use?

Ask the Readers: What’s Your Favorite Curriculum?

Home School Curriculum.  There are as many preferences as there are choices.  In my experience, nearly every home school family has a particular group of curricula they use for educating their children.

Growing up, the big names in home education were A Beka, Bob Jones, and Saxon.  Some years, my brothers and I had a different curriculum for each subject!  One thing’s for sure: Home schooling allows parents to mix and match the right books for their child’s needs.

I want to hear from you.  What’s your favorite curriculum?  Does your family use one curriculum for math, another for history, and still another for english?  Tell us about it!
